Named for the founder of our club and AEC's first president, the Atlanta Economics Club presents the Joseph K. Heyman scholarship to an outstanding student in economics. This scholarship is open to any undergraduate or graduate student enrolled at a metropolitan Atlanta college or university.
2011 - 2012 Recipient
This year’s winner was Suzie Noh from Emory University. Suzie is a sophomore Economics and Mathematics major with a 4.0 GPA. She currently works as a teaching assistant and a peer tutor and has worked as an Investment Promotion Intern at the Korea Trade-Investment Promotion Agency. She plans to attend graduate school in economics with the goal of becoming a professor.
Joo Eun Hwang was named as runner-up to the scholarship. Joo is a freshman economics major at Emory with a 3.675 GPA. He has been an intern at Meritz Securities Company Limited and plans attend graduate school and then return to Korea to work in the national bank after graduation.
